It has 224 hp (horsepower) and comes with a 4.6 L V8 engine. The Mercury Grand Marquis has a curb weight of 4,118 pounds and a fuel tank capacity of 19 gallons. The mid size car has a tire size of: P225/60R17 and has been used by Police Departments. The car was sold by the Lincoln Mercury division of the Ford Motor Company until 2011. It was the manufacturer's Flagship vehicle and its nameplate had been in used since 1975 as the premium trim level of the Mercury Marquis but it wasn't until 1983 that it became a distinct model. The car was essentially a twin of the Ford Crown Victoria with which it shared the Panther platform along with the Lincoln Town Car. The Mercury Grand Marquis largely took the place of the Crown Victoria at the end of the 2007 model year. The full size car was in production continuously for over 36 years, making it the Longest Produced Mercury. By the end of 2010 Ford announced that it would discontinue all Mercury vehicles after 72 years.
