The four size sedan is produced by Italian automobile manufacturer Maserati and its name means "four doors" in Italian. The Quattroporte was first introduced in 1963 and the car is still in production today and is currently in its sixth generation. The original Maserati Quattroporte, also known as the Tipo AM107, was uilt between 1963 and 1969. It was a large saloon powered by V8 engines—both firsts for a series production Maserati automobile. This car was first introduced at the October–November 1963 Turin Motor Show, where a pre-production prototype was on the Maserati stand next to the Mistral coupé. Regular production began in 1964.
