The mid size car comes with either a 2.5 L 4-cylinder or 3.0 L V6 engine and with either a 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. The Milan was available in two different configurations. These configurations included the Base and the Premier. The sedan was based on the Mazda designed Ford CD3 platform built by Ford and distributed by the Lincoln-Mercury division. The Ford Fusion is its complete twin, while being slotted below the luxury-spec Lincoln MKZ sedan. It did have a few differences though, including unique front and rear fascia designs, LED taillight clusters, projector head lamps and fog lamps, and an upgraded interior. The Milan was first sold in the United States and its production ceased in 2010 when Ford eliminated the Mercury division. The Milan became the entry-level sedan by Mercury after the manufacturer discontinued both the Mercury Mystique in 2000 and the Mercury Sable in 2005.
