The SUV has a curb weight of 3,660 to 4,060 pounds. The crossover SUV was produced by General Motors (GM) from 2006 to 2009. It was a replacement for the Aztek and was a slightly restyled version of the first-generation Chevrolet Equinox. The Torrent shared its basic body structure and mechanicals with the Equinox. However, the Torrent has a different front and rear end to distinguish it visually from the Chevy SUV. Trim levels of the Torrent were like other Pontiac models in the lineup, they were entry level Base, mid level GT, and then there was the performance oriented GXP. In 2005, the Pontiac Torrent was featured as one of the prizes in the reality television series Survivor, as well as on Criss Angel Mindfreak in the same year.
